There's nothing more satisfying than the sense of accomplishment that comes from knowing you've transformed something ordinary into something amazing that exceeds all your expectations. Such is the case when I recently took on a weekend project of giving two unassuming dressers a makeover.

As an editor, I always wondered how PR people worked. There are tons of crude names for PR, but ‘PR person’ was my generic catchall for someone who stood between me and the photo that I needed to go to press.
My exposure to PR came as editor of
boutique DESIGN, a hospitality interior design magazine that I launched for Boutique Media Group in 2005.
As of last week, I am now working on the PR side here at DMD Insight in New York. And I’m learning that, as with most things, there’s a lot more to it than it seems.
