Interior Design magazine hosted the selection of new products and projects on Dec. 3.
While the crowd was still excited about the Hall of Fame dinner from the night before, hundreds packed the theatre in the Guggenheim to celebrate the best new products and projects of 2009. The competition was stiff, too.

As an editor, I always wondered how PR people worked. There are tons of crude names for PR, but ‘PR person’ was my generic catchall for someone who stood between me and the photo that I needed to go to press.
My exposure to PR came as editor of
boutique DESIGN, a hospitality interior design magazine that I launched for Boutique Media Group in 2005.
As of last week, I am now working on the PR side here at DMD Insight in New York. And I’m learning that, as with most things, there’s a lot more to it than it seems.

Hospitality Design Expo happens every year in Las Vegas. This year, though, it has been placed on the same week as American Institute Of Architects in Boston, and the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in NYC. So our team has been in full-blown trade show mode, not sipping, but gulping down design. Here is what the media is saying so far, a round-up, round-up if you will allow me.

Ever wonder how you can get into the tents of New York Fashion Week? During my FIT days, I was able to snag a gig as a dresser. One year, I eventually managed to land a seat and enjoy the show. See how The W Hotel made it easy to see the shows, and garnered some good recognition.
